Dr. Brotman is an accomplished vascular surgeon and vein specialist in Princeton, NJ and Mt. Laurel, NJ. She is an expert in both simple and complex vein disease conditions including pelvic congestion syndrome and deep venous thrombosis (DVT). She utilizes cutting-edge, minimally-invasive endovascular technology in her practice for spider and varicose vein disease treatment.

Accomplishments and Recognition

Dr. Brotman O’Neill is recognized as a leader in the field of venous disease, including varicose veins and disorders of the deep venous system. She is published in her field, including The Journal of Vascular Surgery, and has given lectures at the state and national level. She currently lectures medical students at St. Peter’s University Hospital as well. Additionally, she has an accreditation in ultrasound vascular imaging.

Her approach to varicose vein and vascular disease is one full of wonder and respect, often referring to the practice as “an art.” She is accomplished in the application of endovascular technology for treatments of various diseases, including aortic aneurysms and peripheral arterial disease.

Dr. Brotman O’Neill was present for the first venous ClariVein procedure on humans in the United States and was the first to perform this technique in Mercer County, NJ. Dr. Brotman O’Neill has been recognized as a top doc in both NJ Magazine and SJ Magazine for her impressive work as a vein specialist in Mt. Laurel and Princeton, NJ.

Dr. Brotman O’Neill grew up in Hamilton, NJ. Early on in her life, she knew she wanted to be not only a doctor, but a surgeon. She graduated valedictorian from Steinert High School, where she began her journey as a notable contributor to science. In college, she was a member of the Varsity Harvard Cross Country and Track Team. She is married with two children and still enjoys running.

Dr. Brotman O’Neill graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University. In 2002, she received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from ROWAN/SOM (formerly UMDNJ/SOM) where she also performed her residency in general surgery. Residency in general surgery includes a rotation of internships across different functions, during which time Dr. Brotman O’Neill’s specialty became evident. She performed her fellowship in vascular surgery at Mt. Sinai – Englewood Division – Englewood Hospital.

Leading with innovation

During the time of her training, the internet and technology were booming, and thus, a push for minimally-invasive techniques was on the rise. This time inspired and propelled Dr. Brotman O’Neill to continuously adapt and improve vein treatment techniques.

She is board-certified in vascular surgery. She has also been appointed as Assistant Professor of Surgery at ROWAN/SOM. Dr. Brotman O’Neill enjoys teaching residents and medical students, especially about the newest research and advances in venous disease and arterial disease. She has lectured to vascular surgery fellows on venous disease and treatment at The University of Pennsylvania Fellows Lecture Series.

Dr. Brotman O’Neill is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgeons, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, New Jersey Vascular Society, Eastern Vascular Surgery Society, and American Venous Forum. She has served on the Political Action Committee within the Society of Vascular Surgery. She is currently the President-elect for the New Jersey Vascular Surgical Society.
