If you find that your spider veins or vаrісоѕе veins are becoming itchy or painful, it’s time to explore VenaSeal™ as a treatment option

Since the VenaSeal treatment does not require any tumescence for local anesthesia, patients find the procedure to be much more comfortable and essentially pain-free.

No Downtime Required

After the procedure, you can resume your usual activities as there is no recovery time necessary. In addition, you won’t need to wear compression stockings.

VenaSeal Over Radiofrequency Ablation

Both vein treatments are very effective in permanently closing off targeted vein segments. However, VenaSeal does so without any heat delivery. As such, there is no need for large amounts of anesthetic solution.

Advanced Medical Adhesive

The VenaSeal closure system uses an advanced medical adhesive that closes the diseased vein. It is the only non-thermal, non-tumescent, non-sclerosant procedure approved for use in the U.S., which means no heat and no swelling.

How is VenaSeal performed?

What are the advantages and limitations of VenaSeal?

VenaSeal is performed in-office and typically takes less than one hour. Under ultrasound guidance, the patented VenaSeal treatment catheter is inserted into the vein through a tiny incision, similar to endovenous ablation. Once the catheter is in position, small amounts of adhesive are injected into the vein and the catheter is pulled through the length of the vein.

The catheter is then removed from the body and the vein is “glued” shut by the adhesive.

  • Effective outpatient procedure
  • Less discomfort due to decreased need for local anesthetic
  • Compression stockings are not necessary after VenaSeal treatment

  • Limited coverage with medical insurance
  • Hypersensitivity reactions are more common than with RF vein ablation

Is VenaSeal Covered By Insurance?

There is still limited coverage for VenaSeal depending on the insurance carrier. If your vein specialist opts for VenaSeal, prior authorization will be obtained by our insurance specialists to cover the procedures.

When you choose the VenaSeal procedure at the best Vein Wellness Clinics, you can rest assured that you’re in great hands. VenaSeal is one of the most in-demand treatments performed by our Ivy League-trained vein specialists.
